AP Source: Grammys may cut nomination review committees
NEW YORK (AP) — The Grammy Awards are in discussion to remove its nomination review committees — groups that determine the contenders for key awards at the coveted music show. A person familiar with the Recording Academy's discussions, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not allowed to speak about the topic publicly, told The Associated Press that a number of proposals were submitted this year regarding the role of nomination review committees and whether it’s time to eliminate them.

The 'Raise Your Glass' hitmaker feels "humbled and blessed" to have been chosen to follow in the footsteps of stars including Neil Diamond, Jennifer Lopez, Celine Dion, the late Prince, and Mariah Carey to be only the 10th artist to receive the accolade and, at 41, will be the youngest winner to date.
She said in a statement: "As a little girl, I always dreamed about being a singer and sharing my love of music with the world.
"Years later, to receive the Billboard Music Awards Icon Award is hard to fathom! I feel so honoured to join the ranks of music idols like Cher, Garth Brooks, Janet Jackson and Stevie Wonder. It's a true 'pinch me' moment and I feel humbled and blessed."

The country pop song was the first re-recording released from the new album. It was orignially released to widespread acclaim and is still one of Swift's best-selling singles to date. The re-recording was also met with critical acclaim and topped the US Hot Country Songs chart, giving Swift her eighth number-one single on the chart.
You All Over Me
Swift collaborated with Maren Morris for the album's second single "from the vault" that did not make the original 2008 album. She said of teaming up with 30-year-old singer: "One thing I’ve been loving about these From The Vault songs is that they’ve never been heard, so I can experiment, play, and even include some of my favorite artists." It peaked the Billboard Country Digital Songs and Country Streaming Songs, reached number 6 on the combined Hot Country Songs, and number 51 on the Hot 100.
Mr. Perfectly Fine
Swift released another vault track for the album's third single that is reportedly about her relationship with Joe Jonas. The couple dated from July to October 2008 when he famously broke up with her over the phone. Music critics were pleasantly surprised with the track as they praised Swift's lyricism and nostalgic breakup theme.
Breathe (Taylor's Version)
Keith Urban is not the only country singer Swift collaborated with as she also reached out to Colbie Caillat to re-record her vocals from the original 2008 song. The duo wrote the song in the late 00s and was met with a Grammy nomination. It peaked at number eighty-seven on the Billboard Hot 100 and was also certified gold.
Fearless (Taylor's Version)
The country pop song was Swift's final single of the original album in 2008. She wrote it about the fearlessness of falling in love and eventually titled her second studio album after the song. It peaked at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified platinum.
Today Was A Fairytale (Taylor's Version)
Swift recorded the initial version for her film debut 'Valentine's Day' in 2010. Critics dubbed it the best song on the soundtrack and became Swift's first number-one song in Canada. The song also debuted and peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100.
Forever & Always (Taylor's Version)
Swift re-recorded two version of the 2008 pop rock song for her latest album. As well as replacing the vocals, she also released a piano version titled 'Forever & Always (Piano Version) (Taylor's Version)'. The original track was a last-minute addition to the 2008 album and peaked within the top 40 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
You Belong With Me (Taylor's Version)
The country pop song was Swift's third single from the 2008 album. It won Favorite Song at the 2010 Kids' Choice Awards, and received nominations at the 2010 Grammy Awards for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. The song is one of the best-selling singles worldwide, with worldwide sales of more than 7 million units.
As with all previous recipients, Pink will perform at the awards, which take place at Los Angeles' Microsoft Theater on 23 May, marking her first musical appearance at the event in five years.

Organisers have already ruled out an appearance from Morgan Wallen in any capacity, despite his receiving six nominations, after the country star was caught on video using the N-word.
Dick Clark Productions said in a statement: “Morgan Wallen is a finalist this year based on charting. As his recent conduct does not align with our core values, we will not be including him on the show in any capacity (performing, presenting, accepting)."
The shortlisted artists and winners are based on key fan interactions with music, including album and digital song sales, streaming, radio airplay, and social engagement, tracked by Billboard and its data partners over the chart period of March 21, 2020, to April 3, 2021.
